3 Daughters Brewing

Warehouse Arts District

Leigh and Mike Harting opened the brewery in December 2013 with head brewer Ty Weaver ... the name comes from the question of how to put their three daughters through college. It started in a 1,600 square foot tasting room and now fills a large warehouse the brewery says serves over 250,000 guests a year. I Love the Burg calls it the biggest brewery in St. Pete, with more than 40 taps of beer, cider, hard seltzer and sangria. This is the original location; a Clearwater Beach taproom and an airport bar came in 2022.

Allelo

Beach Drive · mediterranean, aegean, small plates

A Mediterranean and Aegean small-plates room that calls itself 'your neighborhood spot for small plates, good times and lots of wine'. Husband-and-wife owners Shawn and Jeanna Damkoehler opened it first, then opened Juno & the Peacock a block north in 2024. I Love the Burg's staff singled out its brunch in June 2026.

Bacchus Wine Bistro

Beach Drive · french bistro, charcuterie, french

A French wine bistro a block off Beach Drive with a menu that changes by season, from French onion soup and foie gras torchon to tuna carpaccio and beef tartare. It pours nearly 100 wines chosen by sommeliers and builds charcuterie boards to order.

Bandit Coffee Co.

Grand Central District · coffee, pastries

A locally owned roaster and cafe on Central Avenue since 2016. It runs a full espresso bar and a kitchen all day, bakes its bread and pastries in-house, and also sells natural wine by the bottle and beer. There is no WiFi, by design, and a dog-friendly walk-up window handles online order pickup. Coffee is roasted every Tuesday and shipped every Wednesday.

Casita Taqueria

Grand Central District · mexican, tacos

Don and Gwen opened Casita after bonding over travel and planning vacations around what each city had to eat, which is how they landed on Mexican food. Corn tortillas are made in-house and the meats are slow-braised. Nearly fifteen years on there are three St. Pete locations ... Central Ave, 4th Street and 66th Street.

El Cap

4th Street North · burgers, american

El Cap is the 4th Street burger bar with the red neon baseball sign. St. Pete Catalyst traces it to 1958, when Louis Joseph Svabek opened it in a 1948 building as one of his 'Cap' beer joints; Steve and Rose Bonfili of Pennsylvania took it over in 1963, and their son Frank turned it into what many call the city's first sports bar. Johnny Johnson has hand-formed the patties since 1992 and once made 2,300 in a day. Mary Jean Bonfili left the place to two longtime servers when she died in 2019, and in January 2023 Seed & Feed Hospitality, run by St. Pete natives, bought half while Cindy Nally kept the other half. The order is the World Champ cheeseburger.

Juno & the Peacock

Beach Drive · new american, coastal, steak, seafood

Opened in August 2024 in the space that was 400 Beach Seafood & Tap House. Shawn and Jeanna Damkoehler bought that restaurant in 2021, ran it under the old name until 2023, then rebuilt it with the design firm AvroKO around Aesop's fable of Juno and the peacock. St. Pete Catalyst reported it as the only Florida restaurant serving Dean & Peeler steaks, dry-aged 45, 65 or 90 days. The Pluma lounge next door keeps more than 1,400 wines, and the patio faces North Straub Park and the yacht basins.

LOVE22

The Deuces · sandwiches, soul food, cuban sandwich

Melissa 'Melly' Gardner opened LOVE22 on Juneteenth 2026 in the building where Lorene's Fish House cooked for 32 years. She calls it a new-age bodega: a downstairs takeout counter with sandwiches, salads, juices and free coffee, a patio with a bar, and a lounge upstairs. The Cuban sandwich uses pork smoked daily, and Sundays are for soul food. Gardner told the Tampa Bay Times she wanted fresh food on a corridor with real health gaps, and that Elihu and Carolyn Brayboy, who own much of 22nd Street, mentored her.

Mastry's Brewing Co.

St. Pete Beach

The brewery calls itself the first and only microbrewery on St. Pete Beach. It runs a 5-barrel system with 18 or more house beers and also distills vodka, rye, bourbon and agave spirits on site. There is a scratch kitchen, an outdoor stage and a patio where dogs and kids are welcome.

Grand Central District · greek

Chef Konstantinos 'Dinos' Chilias, a native of Greece, opened Mythos with partner Daniel Marina in the 3,000 square foot corner room that was last The Salty Nun. Dinner covers lamb chops, pastitsio and house-made baklava, and the weekend late menu turns to gyros and bifteki.

Neptune Grill

Gulfport · greek, seafood

A family-run Greek and seafood room on the corner by the Gulfport pier, open since 2011 and run by Dia and Gus Vartsakis. Helene put more than four feet of water through it in September 2024 and nearly everything had to be replaced. 'We saw our time, energy, passion, and livelihood destroyed,' Dia Vartsakis told St. Pete Rising. It reopened on August 29, 2025, in time for GeckoFest, and The Gabber's publisher called its return a marker for downtown Gulfport's recovery. Two shops that shared the building, Qi Crystal Energy and Paw Paw's Pet Boutique, did not come back.

Pulpo Kitchen + Lounge

Grand Central District · latin, peruvian, small plates

Opened in December 2024 by Jason Ruhe and Hope Montgomery, who also own Brick and Mortar Kitchen and Wine Bar downtown and Sea Worthy Fish + Bar in Tierra Verde. Ruhe shares the kitchen with Jason Cline, formerly head chef at Birch and Vine. The menu runs to 20-plus small plates, charred octopus, Peruvian-style ceviche and two paellas, around a circular bar with a small stage for live Latin music. David Fischer of Zazoo'd designed the room.

Ruya

Grand Central District · moroccan coffee, mint tea, wine

Owner Sarah Aitcadi, whose family is Moroccan, opened Ruya on 11 October 2025 after years of travel through Europe and the Middle East. The name plays on the Arabic word for vision or dream. It is a day-into-night cafe ... Moroccan spiced coffee from a French press, mint tea served to share, sangria and wine ... using beans from St. Pete roaster Look Alive Coffee. The 1,650 square foot room was the If I Brewed the World microbrewery, and there is a pergola-shaded courtyard out back.

Stella's

Gulfport · breakfast, southern, american

Named for Aunt Stella, born in Manhattan in 1910, who became a nun and loved to cook. The restaurant serves its full menu all day, breakfast included, and keeps a doggie menu for the patio.

Taverna Costale

Downtown · italian, seafood, pizza

Chef Fabio Viviani's coastal Italian room on the ground floor of 200 Central, serving pastas, pizzas and seafood. The patio has its own dog menu, and a private room called Scappa handles parties.

The Chattaway

4th Street South · burgers, american, english tea

Helen Lund opened The Chattaway in 1951 and her family, later Jillian Frers, ran it for 75 years as a burger garden with an English tea room inside. In March 2026 the property went under contract and the restaurant was expected to close for good; it shut in mid-July. Cullen Mahoney, Ferg's owner Mark Ferguson and Shrimpy's Waterfront owner John John Delladonna bought the restaurant and its 0.70 acre lot in August and reopened it on 25 September 2026. The new owners added a second outdoor bar, a canopy with fans over the patio and a full liquor license, and say the burger stays as it was.

The Lure

Downtown · sushi, tapas, tiki

Tiki drinks, tapas, pool tables and more than 50 sushi rolls on the 600 block. Chef and co-founder Tom Golden opened it in 2016 after renovating a building the restaurant says is 125 years old, one that ran as a bar in the 1930s and 40s and 'even served as a brothel at one point'. The house catchphrase is 'I'm starvin', make me some cold dead fish'. Weekend brunch features Granny Sage's biscuits and gravy.
