The original Black Crow, opened in Historic Old Northeast in 2015; a second shop followed at 2161 1st Ave S in Grand Central. Creative Loafing reported it as Florida's first certified zero-waste coffeehouse in 2018, a standard that requires keeping 90 percent of its waste out of the county landfill. Co-owner Deana Hawk led the change, and the shop was composting more than 15,000 pounds of organic waste a year.
Over 50 St. Pete: Old Northeast
Brick streets and old oaks north of downtown, running up from the Vinoy. The hotel holds one of the city's MICHELIN Recommended restaurants, and the original Black Crow coffee shop is a few blocks inland.
Elliott Aster is the signature restaurant at The Vinoy, a collaboration between the resort, chef Lee Wolen and Chicago's Boka Restaurant Group. It opened on 20 May 2025 and was added to the MICHELIN Guide Florida a year later. The guide describes an Italian-inspired steakhouse with high ceilings and large chandeliers ... wood-fired steaks, house-made pastas, focaccia rolls, radiatore alla vodka and a caramel coffee budino. There is an antipasti bar, a lounge that opens before the dining room, and a Sunday brunch. Wolen was a 2025 James Beard semifinalist for Outstanding Chef for his Chicago work.
The Vinoy's casual marina-side restaurant. The hotel describes it as local seafood dishes that highlight Old Florida flavors with a modern twist, with seating indoors and out over the marina.
